Improvise

My wife's co-worker was getting married and due to budget constraints she didn't have any photos to show during the ceremony. She asked me if I could take some photos of her and her husband-to-be, and I answered why not? :\

I only have my Canon EOS M3+Kitlens since my Canon EOS 7D broke, so I asked a friend of mine if I could borrow his camera, a Fujifilm X-T20 with Kitlens. I figured his camera's kitlens has an Aperture of F/2.8 at its widest focal length so maybe I can do some pretty good Bokeh with it somehow. He willingly let me borrow his camera to somehow change my mind and shift to Fujifilm. Oh... I also borrowed a Canon EOS 1100D from my niece's friend as a backup and maybe I can use my Canon 50mm F/1.8 on it to really hit those Bokeh (blurry background) shots.

So, there we went to Susan's Beach, a not so far beach resort in Maasim, Sarangani Province. I chose this spot because it had a variety of spots to shoot in. The resort lets you shoot freely as long as you pay the entrance fee. Yey!

We started shooting at 4pm to try and catch the Golden Hour later but unfortunately the sun was setting behind the small mountains so we couldn't catch much awesome light. Note to self - do some research on where the sun rises/sets on photoshoot locations. Oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

During the shoot, I struggled with the Fujifilm X-T20. One of the functions that I really had a hard time with was the focus points while using autofocus. I don't trust my eyes so I didn't use manual focus on the lens. I thought that you can focus anywhere you want just by touching the screen at back (just like any other touch screen camera on live view mode). Anyways, the F/2.8 at it's widest really helped a lot, especially when trying to achieve Bokeh.

Of course like any other kitlens out there you can achieve some very good wide angle shots.

If your kitlens can't achieve those bokeh background shots, why not bing the bokeh to the foreground?

Since I struggled a bit and it started to rain, I could only get a few good shots which led me to think how am I supposed to make a decent slideshow with these limited number of photos? I had to improvise and managed to come up this video/slideshow.... Enjoy :)
